What was your inspiration for this piece?
It started with pebbles! Ever since I was a little kid I would pick up pebbles (rocks). Recently I took up fused glass and realized I could make glass pebbles. Even better than rocks, glass pebbles sparkle and scatter light into rainbows.

Playing with those glass pebbles led to my fused glass pebble series. As I was designing this pebble piece in blues, the next question was "what would it look like in fiber"? That led to the coordinated woven fabric table mat.
Constance promised herself when she retired, she would take all the fun classes she never seemed to have time for when she was working. Then she retired and there was BARN! Glass and fiber and wood - oh my. Glass is her favorite from of expression these days. She often pairs her glass works with wood or fiber just for fun. She's named her ventures as Mud Flats Studio, which is often what she sees when she looks up from her work and out the window.
