EAGLE HARBOR CHURCH BENCH

Community Service Woodshop

What inspired you to create this work?

The Eagle Harbor Church Bench was a Community Service Project through the BARN - Woodshop. The bench was made of a Black Locust tree on the church property. The church donated the tree, David Kotz milled the lumber, and the BARN, Community Service - Woodshop constructed the bench. The Project Lead and bench designer was Carol Fiedler - Kawaguchi. The team consisted of Ian Forbes, Keith Doughty, Carolyn Doughty, Tom Leurquin, Marianne Spur. Mike Gearheard and Wayne Change were also vital to the initial organization with the church.

Tell us about the creation process including any obstacles overcome or surprises.
Black Locust is really, really hard and heavy wood!
